WHAT IS STONE THERAPY?
Stone therapy is one of the most popular spa treatments to promote ultimate relaxation. It might be best described as alternating temperatures in bodywork. The physiological benefits of alternating hot and cold to the body have long been scientifically and medically proven. Stone therapy capitalizes on traditional practices with a current approach. Basalt and marble stones are the medium. The host and cold temperatures are the massage. This unique form of massage utilizes 54 hot stones, 18 frozen stones and one that is room temperature.
Deep relaxation is only one of the benefits. The therapeutic potential of this treatment goes beyond measure. The "vascular gymnastics" of the circulatory system assists the body in self-healing. Grounding, balancing and releasing of blocked memories frequently occurs.
Stone therapy is:
· A massage and detoxification treatment
· An immune system function booster
· An energy and reflexolody treatment
· A deep tissues healing treatment

WHAT IS CELLULITE AND HOW CAN I GET RID OF IT?
Cellulite is a skin condition that affects more than 90 per cent of women. Directly related to hormonal variations., it also tends to worsen with age. Two opposing forces create the dimpled "orange peel" look of cellulite: vertical connection tissues pulling down on the skin and fluid retention and enlarged fat cells pushing up on the skin.
While diet and exercise affect deep fat, the fail to act on the underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial layer of skin. It must be adressed from the subcutaneous layer to ask on fluid retention.
We can help you loose those lumps and bumps. Method Dermosonic sends cellulite chasing vibrations deep into the skin to iron out dimpled spots in way that hands-on treatments simply can't.
This machine performs lymphatic drainage to lelease toxins, smoothes and tightens the skin and contours the body. It is especially helpful for pre-and-post surgery treatments to reduce swelling and speed up recovery from post-operative bruising.
HOW CAN I RE-GAIN TONE TO MY FACE WITHOUT RISKING SURGERY?
We can give your facial muscles a workout with the Sumishi Toning Machine. It smoothes out the signs of aging by creating specific pulsations that stimulate the core of facial muscles, effectively lifting, toning and firming the face.
Sumishi has been researching microcurrents for 15 years, experiencing consistent and predictable results with microcurrent instrumentation. In 1982, the company observed that specific currents of electricity increased the protein synthesis of the skin, increasing circulation and this allowing muscles to retain their tone.
In the last eight years, Sumishi discovered that complementing microcurrent technology with protein nourishment made the results even better. Clients experienced improved skin tone, a brighter complexion, elasticity and firmness.
Regular treatments are required for optimum results. You'll need six to 10 treatments, undertaken three times a week.
It's the healthiest exercise your facial muscles will ever have - and it's effective.
I DON'T HAVE TIME TO APPLY FULL MAKEUP EVERY DAY. WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?
One good timesaving solution is permanent makeup, or micropigmentation. This traditional method of makeup enables eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, and lipliner to be etched into the face, providing fixed definition and colour. Like tattooing, dye is injected into the skin, leaving an indelible impression that, if done properly, will never fade. As with all such procedures, reputable and safe application is a must, but today's sophisticated equipment and techniques are geared towards client protection.
Good machinery and technique are required to ensure correct blending of colour. Each person's skin tone is different, demanding individual assessment to produce a natural effect. A knowledgeable and qualified esthetician can employ specialized skills to achieve enhancing results. Permanent makeup is of particular value to people with unsteady hands or impaired vision who have trouble creating an even, well-placed line with an eyeliner or lip pencil. Similarly, those among us who have indistinct features such as small eyes, thin brows, or pale lips would benefit from a permanent, well-defined makeup. And chemotherapy patients who find that their eyebrows don't grow back after treatment, rely on this technique to provide well-arched, face-framing brows. Eyes and lips are the focal points of any face. Why not save time, money and effort by having your features permanently enhanced?
WHAT HEALTH AND BEAUTY SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MEN?
The same health care and beauty services that benefit women are also recommended for men. Some services can be tailored specifically towards men, but basically we both share the same goals for our appearance. While men do have particular skin problems such as those resulting from shaving, for instance, we all want to keep our skins looking healthy and youthful. We all want to look and feel our best. Health and beauty services can certainly help both men and women to achieve these goads, and today's changing attitudes make such procedures more acceptable to men. Male fragrances, for instance, are popular, so why shouldn't men visit a beauty salon or day spa? Men too appreciate the special attention and benefits of education about skin care. A facial stimulates and rejuvenates male skin as well, and helps men to relax, leaving them with that same feeling of well being that women enjoy after a pampering session.
Massage in particular is beneficial to men. Tension from a stressful business agenda, a sedentary routine, or a sports-induced injury melts away during a back massage or an aromatherapy body message. Boosting circulation and relieving muscular fatigue in a soothing environment helps to reduce the effects of stress on the body and so aids general health, as well as improving skin condition.
So if the men in our life could use some time out, why not set them on their way with a birthday or Fathers Day gift certificate? Or treat yourself and your male partner to a couples' session. Face and body treatments can be combined in half-day or full-day packages to banish the blues and leave you both feeling on top of world.
WHAT ARE THE VARIOUS METHODS OF REMOVING UNWANTED HAIR?
The most common method of removing superfluous hair is shaving. It's also the least effective method because it removes the hair from the skin's surface only, so the hair will grow back soon after shaving. It will also grow back stronger and coarser, and will therefore be more noticeable, requiring frequent removal.
More effective hair removal methods extract the hair at the root. Waxing is good for larger body area like legs and while this does remove the hair at the root, the root remains alive. Regrowth, therefore, does occur, but not as rapidly as with shaving. Quality treatment is important, since the waxing process requires that the hair be extracted at the correct angle in order to avoid the hair breaking from the root and growing into the skin.
Electrolysis is the most permanent method of hair removal, and has existed for more than 100 years. It's recommended for smaller areas such as face, bikini, or underarms. Because each hair must be treated, it's a slower process, but it does kill the root of the hair so that regrowth rarely occurs. Electrolysis involves inserting a special needle into the hair follicle and directing a mild electrical impulse into the hair's root. It should only be undertaken by a qualified professional with up-to-date equipment.
A more recent approach to hair-free skin is laser treatment. It's an expensive but permanent way to remove hair from larger areas such as legs. Laser treatment can only be performed by plastic surgeons, and works best on fairer skins.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT EYEBROW WAXING?
I would never advise waxing eyebrows. The skin around our eyes is most delicate and must be treated with the greatest care. Applying hot wax to the eye area, then pulling it, can cause the skin to sag and create what is known as a 'double eyelid'.
So while waxing is recommended for certain parts of the body, and other areas of the face such as the upper lip, it should never be carried out near the eyes. Even products that are safe for other facial areas, such as masks or face creams not specially formulated for the eye area, shouldn't be applied around the eyes. So why would we risk damaging that fragile skin with hot wax? As always, professional treatment is a crucial consideration. Unfortunately, many hair salons offer eyebrow waxing, even though they are not licensed to do so. Irreparable damage frequently occurs as a result.
Correctly-shaped brows are important, however, since they create a frame for the face that helps uplift features and makes eyes appear larger. Tweezing is an advisable way of achieving this, and when done professionally, with the right technique, will achieve the right shape and should not be painful.
Electrolysis is also recommended for eyebrows, since this method of hair removal works well on small areas, will not damage the skin, and is permanent.
Eyebrow and eyelash tinting are effective ways to make fair brows and lashes more visible. Tinting is medically approved and if done correctly, will not harm the eye area. It lasts at least a month, is waterproof, and makes those lashes look longer without the need to apply and remove mascara daily - a great time-saver for every beauty.
WHAT EXACTLY IS A "SPA" PEDICURE?
A spa pedicure is a pedicure service with extra beneficial treatments added. A desire to have nicely painted toenails should not be the primary reason for having a pedicure done. Feet are the body's balancing act. Foot problems can stress other joints and throw the entire body off-balance.
A spa pedicure can alleviate most heel and foot discomfort such as skin dryness, cracked heels, cold and/or tired feet and sluggish circulation. Keeping your feet in optimum condition with a monthly pedicure can help to prevent many foot problems and the service will leave you feeling relaxed and cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT CHEMICAL PEELS?
Chemical peeling involves burning off the top layers of skin with an acid. Most popular these days are light or 'mini' peels carried out with alpha-hydroxy (fruit) acids. Since the beginning of time, women and men alike have relentlessly pursued the secret to radiant, younger-looking skin. Cleopatra bathed in sour milk and ladies of the French Court applied aged wine to their faces to keep their skin smooth and blemish-free. The link between these age-old remedies and beautiful, clear skin is a group of naturally occurring fruit acids collectively referred to as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, or AHAs.
These organic fruit acids can be found in a variety of fruits and foods; for example, lactic acid in sour milk, tartaric acid in grapes, maltic acid in apples and citric acid in citrus fruits. Glycolic acid (naturally found in sugar cane) is thought to be the most effective and suitable fruit acid for cosmetic application. Since Glycolic acid has the smallest molecular structure of all AHAs, it is believed to possess the greatest penetration potential.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT CELLULITE?
Cellulite is a well-known word in society today but is not a medically accepted term. Medically speaking, it is more specifically termed as "toxified fatty deposits." Because "cellulite" is an abnormal condition causing a slow breakdown and weakness in the connective tissue that holds the skin firm, the elimination of cellulite through regular diet and exercise is usually not enough. Cellulite is an essentially female problem -- men rarely suffer unless they're seriously, clinically obese. On average, women have 35 billion adipocytes (fat cells) compared to 28 billion in men.
Research pinpoints two stages of cellulite formation: water cellulite and fatty cellulite. If you catch water cellulite early in your life, you can halt its progress to the second stage. Adopt lymphatic drainage techniques such as skin brushing, massage and exercise. Body or "inch" wraps can assist in the elimination of excessive accumulations of toxins and fluids that prevent the correction of this abnormal condition.
MASKS: DO THEY WORK?
Most masks increase blood circulation in the skin to give a pleasant afterglow. Clay-based masks draw sebum and debris from the skin's surface, unplug blocked pores, are mildly exfoliative, and can tighten the skin slightly. Moisturizing masks are deeply soothing and can be a real relief to sore, taut skin, making the surface better hydrated and more supple. Effects are usually only temporary, but the “feel good factor” may see you through an evening. You can turn your moisturizer into an emergency mask by applying it extra thick, leaving it on for 10 minutes, then wiping off the excess with tissue.
I HAVE BEEN PLUCKING HAIRS ON MY FACE AND THEY SEEM TO BE COMING BACK.
Yes, there is help for you! Electrolysis has proved to be the only safe, permanent hair removal method for over 100 wars.
How does electrolysis work?
A small hair-like wire called a lilattent is inserted into the natural opening, the follicle, in your skin where the hair emerges. A gentle pulse of electrical current is then applied for a fraction of a second. The hair is then grasped with forceps and just slides right out. The electrical current acts to destroy the hair's nutrient source, the papilla. Successful electrolysis takes a commitment to a series of regular appointments. The length of treatment is determined by the amount of hair that you want treated. The most common areas of the body for unwanted hair removal are: face, neck (front and back), eyebrows, hairline, underarm, breast, abdomen, bikini area, legs and arms. It has been the treatment of choice by both males and females of all ages.
When hair growth becomes a preoccupation, interferes with personal relationships and lifestyle choices; it is time for a permanent solution.

WHAT CAN A BODY WRAP DO FOR ME?
A body wrap can help you lose inches! Effects include reducing cellulite and water retention, metabolic balancing, as well as associated benefits such as relieving muscle fatigue and reducing stress.
Several types of body treatment are available, as it's important to undertake the right type of treatment. Body treatments have two basic aims: detoxification, and firming. The first step in any weight reduction plan should always be detoxification. Removing toxins from the system helps the body to prepare for weight loss and can intensify the impact of any nutritional, exercise, and lifestyle changes you make. Detoxification also promotes health and radiance. Unlike diet and exercise alone, the increased blood circulation stimulated by a body wrap, not only aids elimination and enables internal organs to work more efficiently, it improves skin tone. Firming body treatments are recommended after dieting, sickness, or any rapid weight loss that causes skin to sag. Elastin, the protein that keeps skin firm, can't do its job properly when the body is clogged with toxins or is battling sickness or reduced nutrition. Firming body treatments help you look sleeker!
Any body treatment should begin with exfoliation. Our self-exfoliation process slows with age, so removing dead skin cells on a regular basis aids this natural but declining process. Exfoliation helps the body breathe and increases absorption of essential oils and moisturizers used during the body wrap.
Detoxifying and firming body treatments work together, so for optimum results both should be selected. Then, to get the most from your body treatments, you'll need to adopt good nutritional and exercise habits. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will prolong the delightful effects of your body wrap.
